British Para Table Tennis is pleased to announce the following awards following a nomination process leading to decisions by a panel. These Awards were noted at the recent BPTT AGM and will be presented as soon as circumstances allow.
BPTT has introduced these awards in order to recognise members who contribute so much to our sport.
Congratulations to all these winners on their much deserved awards.
Volunteer of the year
David has been heavily involved in running competitions for BPTT for a number of years. As organiser and referee of the Grand Prix domestic competitions held over the year, he has played a crucial role providing opportunities which benefit members greatly.
Young Volunteer of the year
Adam is an enthusiastic developing player who helps with coaching locally and is a great ambassador for para table tennis. He promotes his sport at every opportunity – at school and hospital appointments, on social media and even National TV. He loves coaching players of all ages and abilities, helping many young players improve their game and in doing so challenges preconceptions about disabled athletes.
Player Recognition Award – The Steve Welch Trophy
Craig fulfils all the criteria for this award. He is a fervent ambassador for para table tennis, displaying commendable positivity and mindfulness for others. He has been active as a coach, including on the Diploma In Sporting Excellence programme supporting a new para table tennis player as well as undertaking an active and successful playing programme.

J Murphy and Sons Ltd – with staff member Jane Porton, parent of a BPTT member
The welcome and positive support from J Murphy and Sons Ltd has enabled Jane to undertake much needed inputting and development work on the BPTT rankings system, benefitting all members and organisers.
