Nine-strong British squad to compete in Czechia

A squad of nine British Para Table Tennis Team athletes will be looking to gain valuable experience in the ITTF World Para Future Ostrava 2025 in Czechia this week from June 19-21.
Hoping to build on some good performances in Slovenia last month are former GB wheelchair rugby captain Chris Ryan, who achieved his first wins against top 10 opponents in taking bronze in the men’s class 2 singles and Scotland’s Ryan Henry, who also recorded some good wins against higher ranked opposition in reaching the quarterfinals of the men’s class 8 singles in the Challenger tournament.
“I feel good leading up to Czechia, training has been good, particularly the
Performance Camp last week,” said Henry. “I’m going to try and use the momentum from Slovenia and keep going in Czechia. I just need to take it one point at a time and stay focused.”
Also competing in Czechia are teenagers Dan Thomson and Jacob Wicks, medallists in Finland earlier this year and 33-year-old Nathan Drayner, who will be making his international debut.
